Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, direction: Sir András Schiff (piano)
Around 1738, Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig compiled a collection of concertos for harpsichord, strings and basso continuo, presumably for public performance with his Collegium Musicum. In composing them, he had recourse to instrumental concertos that he had written back in Weimar or Köthen. In the person of Sir András Schiff, one of the most important Bach pianists of the present time will be in Leipzig to perform six of these concertos with the Gewandhaus Orchestra. A superb musical experience is guaranteed.
