Reinhard Goebel is one of the most experienced representatives of early music in Germany. As a virtuoso violinist and conductor of the ensemble Musica Antiqua Köln, since the 1970s he has made a significant contribution to changing the perception of the instrumental music of the 17th and 18th centuries with outstanding concerts and recordings, himself undertaking the huge task of tracking down sources. During the past two decades, Goebel has focused first and foremost on teaching. He is also a much sought-after guest conductor. He has worked with the Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum in Leipzig since 2020 and with that ensemble will be performing works at the Bachfest by the composers who had a significant influence on Bach.
