Harpsichordist Elina Albach and her ensemble Continuum have created a sensation at numerous festivals in recent years with their unconventional arrangements of a wide variety of early music works. Elina Albach has transformed Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous B Minor Mass into a spellbinding chamber version. Besides six vocalists, the performance involves just seven instrumentalists, who divide the parts of this complex score between themselves. The result is a whole new way of hearing Bach’s opus ultimum. Between the musical sections are poetic reflections by the Swiss writer, Jürg Halter.
