No 38 Christmas Oratorio

A truly exceptional orchestra will be performing the first three cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio together with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Choir: the Galilee Chamber Orchestra based in Nazareth is the first professional ensemble in Israel to be made up of both Jewish and Arab musicians. Another hallmark of the orchestra, which is conducted by Saleem Ashkar, is its fine mix of young and more experienced musicians who together perform to the highest standard. And so, in Leipzig, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach will, in a most special way, bring Jewish, Christian and Arab artists together.
