No 184 The Well-Tempered Clavier, Part 2

J. S. Bach: Preludes and Fugues, BWV 870–893
Artists: Sir András Schiff (piano)
He has become an institution where piano interpretations of Bach’s music is concerned: Sir András Schiff never fails to enchant audiences in the world’s greatest concert venues with his profound yet accessible performances of Bach works. Schiff himself calls Johann Sebastian Bach the »alpha and omega« of music history, in whom »emotional, intellectual and physical aspects of music interact optimally with each other«. András Schiff has been a frequent supplier of magical musical moments at the Leipzig Bachfest and two years ago, he was awarded the Bach Medal here. On the programme of this year’s solo concert is Part 2 of the »Well-Tempered Clavier« – his second iconic journey through all the keys in 24 preludes and fugues.
