No 218 Guided Tour

In conjunction with this year’s Bach Festival, we would like to introduce you to Johann Sebastian Bach, the person, during our walking tour. What better place to do this than Leipzig? The city where Bach spent 27 years of his life until his death. Along the way, you will learn many details about Bach’s life and work: his difficult start in Leipzig, the friction and bickering with the city council, his constant worries about the choir boys and, of course, his eternal struggle for honour and recognition, which finally came to an end in 1736 when he was awarded the title of »Compositeur to the Court of Saxony« by the Prince Elector himself.
