»BACH – We Are FAMILY« Choir 2026

Enthusiastic singers, dreaming of standing on the choir gallery in St Thomas’ Church to sing a cantata by Bach under the direction of Rudi Lutz, will again have the opportunity to do so during Bachfest 2026.

Together with splendid soloists and the LufthansaOrchestra, the »BACH – We are FAMILY«-Choir will perform the cantata »Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis«, BWV 21 in the motet service on Saturday, June 20, 15.00 am as well as further works..

Experienced singers from all over the world are invited to register before 10 December 2025. As only approx. 100 singers can take part, there will be a selection process.

Terms and Conditions

Singers with choir experience who independently study the Bach cantata are invited to participate. Participation in all rehearsals according to the invitation is binding.
The sheet music will be sent to the participants in January 2026.
The artistic director reserves the right to exclude singers from the project (e.g. in the case of unsuitability, non-compliance with the rehearsal plan).

Registration deadline: 10 December 2025

The singers will be selected in December 2025 and will be notified by 22 December 2025 and will be requested to pay the participation fee by 10 January 2026. Registration becomes binding upon payment of the participation fee.

Participation fee: € 220,00 (no reduction) ???

Participants are responsible for their own accommodation.
