Every music tradition has its own hits which »everyone« is supposed to know. But on closer reflection, »everyone« often refers to people with similar music socialisation. Outside our own circle, the so-called world hit is often surprisingly unfamiliar. In this concert, the Bridges Chamber Orchestra focuses precisely on such hits. Every work is »world-famous« in one specific cultural circle or music tradition. The orchestra members write the arrangements of these classics themselves, transforming them to suit their unique configuration.
