Bach is omnipresent in Leipzig as one of Europe’s most significant cities for music in the 19th century. And the music trail is the best way to explore Leipzig as a city of music. Join us for a visit to genuine places along the music trail and learn more about the life and work of great Bach adorers in Leipzig including composers, Gewandhaus directors, St. Thomas’ cantors and publishers, such as Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert and Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Joseph Joachim, Franz Liszt, Ferdinand Hiller, Ignaz Moscheles, Moritz Hauptmann, Max Reger, publishers from the Breitkopf & Härtel and Edition Peters publishing houses. The tour will end at the Mendelssohn House in Goldschmidtstraße which you can then visit on your own if you so desire.
