As soon as Gasandji comes onstage, she captivates audiences with her charisma and a voice that lays bare deep emotions. The singer, who is currently being feted as a new discovery on the French music scene, grew up in the Congo and came to Paris aged 14. Her songs reflect her ties to the ancient traditions and wisdoms of her Central African home and her experiences in the urban environment of a metropolitan city. Regardless of whether Gasandji sings in French, English or Lingála, her music comes straight from the heart and gets feet moving.
